Both privately owned and commercial dive boats appear tethered to mooring buoys on Molasses Reef, Key Largo, Florida. This aerial view provides a prospective of the spur and groove type of coral formation typical in the Florida Keys, wherein the coral formations are separated by large sand channels. Nearby unmanned Molasses Reef Light marks a shallow area of the reef and also serves as a collection point for marine observations collected as data for NOAA.
